Project Introduction
The Shanxi Ruiyang Coalbed Methane Power Station has a total capacity of 10 × 500 kW gas internal combustion generator sets, providing power to the coalbed methane company. However, when operating in isolated grid mode, it cannot meet the demands of conditions with significant load fluctuations. Based on on-site operational data, the Yuanhe team provided a battery energy storage system, which, when combined with the original coalbed methane power generation, forms a hybrid power supply system, completely resolving this issue. The system was commissioned and connected to the grid in mid-November 2022. Not only did it address the stability issues of isolated grids caused by large load fluctuations, but it also unlocked additional output capacity from the existing generators, thereby increasing the customer’s revenue. Yuanhe Energy will also leverage this successful application to expand into more hybrid power scenarios, helping customers achieve lower-carbon and more cost‑effective solutions.
