Frequency Regulation in Thermal Power
Project Introduction
The project was put into operation on March 29 and is Hunan’s first thermal power frequency modulation energy storage battery replacement project. Without altering the original civil and electrical facilities, a high‑performance 1P liquid‑cooled DC side solution was adopted to replace the original air‑cooled battery system, optimizing the entire battery container system and significantly improving key indicators such as energy density, cell temperature control performance, and cell consistency. To meet the established series of technical specifications and on‑site requirements, while preserving core technologies like modular compartmentalization and cluster‑level temperature control, a custom‑designed 30‑foot liquid‑cooled container was developed. During the trial run, the system operated stably; thanks to the adoption of Yuanhe Energy’s cluster‑level temperature control system, under continuous 1P frequency modulation conditions, the temperature difference within each cluster did not exceed 4°C. The temperature difference between the battery cells inside the reactor does not exceed 4 degrees over 24 hours. The temperature difference between clusters is no more than 1°C, ensuring that current imbalances between clusters do not exceed 2A, thereby injecting new momentum into the Liyujiang Power Plant’s ability to achieve all its annual goals and tasks.
